Ali Center Welcomes Hundreds who Helped
One Lucky Family
ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition recently came to Louisville to help a local family rebuild their home. The Hughes family was in need of a home that could cater to the daily challenges of their oldest son Patrick Henry, who was born blind. An additional disability requires that he uses a wheelchair. Within a week’s time, their home was demolished and a new one built that included accessible features to accommodate Patrick’s disabilities.
The Muhammad Ali Center donated to the family two autographed items: a pair of boxing gloves (signed by Muhammad) and an Ali Center poster (signed by artist LeRoy Neiman). All items were professionally framed courtesy of Framers Supply. The Ali Center also proudly hosted the Elite Home’s wrap party to congratulate all the many wonderful workers, sponsors and volunteers who helped make this dream possible for the Hughes family.
