Ali Center Receives Cornerstone Award
The Louisville Downtown Management District presented the Muhammad Ali Center with a Cornerstone Award at their annual meeting on October 23. The Ali Center was recognized for its "significant contribution in 2006 to the revitalization of downtown Louisville." Ina Bond, Chair Emeritus of the Ali Center's Board of Directors, accepted the award on behalf of the organization.
Louisville's newest attraction was built on what was the location of the former King Fish Restaurant along the banks of the Ohio River in the historic downtown district. The Ali Center created yet another cultural and educational destination in the heart of downtown - adding to the list of the five other museums within walking distance. Improvements have been made to the surrounding infrastructure providing appeal and a point of interest along the city's riverfront skyline.
