Muhammad Ali Visits the Ali Center
Over 200 Visitors Meet “The Greatest”
Wherever he goes, Muhammad Ali draws a crowd and his visit to the Muhammad Ali Center on September 15 was no exception. A line of over 200 people waiting in anticipation to meet “The Greatest” wound around the lobby of the Ali Center. Muhammad and Lonnie Ali, who frequently visit the center, greeted visitors and fans who were eager to have their photo taken with the Champ. The crowd erupted in applause as Ali made his way into the room. He first met with a group of school children who were visiting the center that day for an educational tour. Ali, who has always enjoyed interacting with children, made playful gestures and was quite at home greeting the awe-struck kids.
Ali later met with U.S. Senator from Illinois Barack Obama who has been a long-time fan of Ali. The two men sat together in the center’s Orientation Theater and then took a brief tour through the exhibits.
