ALI CENTER ANNOUNCES NEW FUNDING
AND PROGRAMMATIC SUPPORT
The Ali Center is pleased to announce several new funding sources that will help the organization attain its institutional goals of preserving and promoting Muhammad Ali’s legacy and inspiring individuals toward “personal greatness” in an effort to profoundly and positively impact society as a whole.
The Ali Center wishes to thank the following organizations or individuals for their generous support:
JAMES GRAHAM BROWN FOUNDATION
$750,000
This donation will primarily assist the Center in developing a state-of-the art Library and Research Center, expanding its exhibits, and going toward the Center’s endowment.
INA BOND
$400,000
This gift will provide the means to actively and profoundly help the Ali Center promote the legacy and ideals of Muhammad Ali through multi-faceted approaches.
DAVID JONES, SR.
$250,000
This gift will provide the means to actively and profoundly help the Ali Center promote the legacy and ideals of Muhammad Ali through multi-faceted approaches.
BROWN-FORMAN
$75,000
In an effort to continue its support to the Center, Brown-Forman has extended its corporate membership and provided additional funding over the next three years to preserve Muhammad Ali's legacy.
MOTT FOUNDATION
$65,000
Building Bridges Initiative
(In partnership with After School Matters)
This grant supports high-school after school policy development and program implementation. In partnership with After School Matters, The Center will bring together thought leaders and city leaders to develop and implement plans for increasing the effectiveness of out-of-school time activities. Focus areas will include: race, gender, and class inequities, high school graduation, college and work force readiness, high school policy and reform, organizational development, and use of technology in completing out of school time work.

This gift will provide the means to actively and profoundly help the Ali Center promote the legacy and ideals of Muhammad Ali through multi-faceted approaches.

Donated to honor Ali Center board member and former board chair Jonathan Blum for his volunteer efforts.
CELEBRITY FIGHT NIGHT
$100,000
Recognized as one of the nation's elite charity events, Celebrity Fight Night is a star-studded evening presented in honor of Muhammad Ali. This donation will go toward helping the Center promote the legacy and ideals of its founder, Muhammad Ali.

$15,000
This donation will help send young people to attend the Tavis Smiley Foundation’s 2009 Youth Leadership Conference.
