The Muhammad Ali Center is proud to host an evening full of events that will celebrate a group of inspiring and resilient women across the state and around the world.

About the Film and CARE:
The Ali Center is proud to join with the humanitarian organization CARE for a FREE showing of the award-winning film “A Powerful Noise.” CARE is a non-profit that helps fight global poverty by empowering individuals and families to bring lasting change to their communities.
The critically acclaimed documentary, “A Powerful Noise,” follows three women from different countries who overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to bring lasting solutions to their communities. Immediately after the film, there will be a panel discussion with notable women from the local community and beyond. Lonnie Ali, Stephanie Baric from CARE, filmmaker Molly Bingham, Ann Coffey President and CEO of Women 4 Women,
Shirley Willihnganz Provost, University of Louisville and Ali Center Board Chair, and other powerful women will discuss women’s issues from their own unique perspectives, experience, and knowledge.

The Muhammad Ali Center will host the opening of artist in residence Pat Gallagher’s exhibit “The 10 Most Inspirational Women in Louisville.” The exhibit features pieces that were created by Gallagher based on how women have inspired him. Several months in the making, the exhibit is the culmination of Gallagher’s “Year of Inspiration” as resident artist with the new Dreammakers Program at the Ali Center. Throughout the year, visitors to the Center were able to watch the artist at work, interact with him, and learn more about Pat’s dream to be an artist and how the Dreammakers Program is helping him find the greatness within himself.
Admission: All of these events are FREE and open to the public.
