Build the Centers endowment, enabling long-term sustainability and expanded outreach through programs both in the Center and far beyond its physical walls.
The Muhammad Ali Center fully believes that its long term sustainability and its ability to maximize the impact it has on its guests are limited if its audience is only those who come through its doors to walk through the Visitor Experience. Its reach will be far greater through the establishment and implementation of a variety of programmatic initiatives that either conducted at the Center or off-site in conjunction with other institutions with similar and complementary missions will expose greater number of target audiences to the impact of the Center and its core values-related programming. A number of such efforts are already underway; others will be developed as a result of the efforts undertaken in the Muhammad Ali Archives and Research Center.
While the Center is actively and aggressively pursuing a variety of grants and sponsorships to help offset the costs of such programs, and will continue to do so, it realizes that it needs to have a significant amount of income available from its own sources to guarantee a steady stream of support for its operations as well as its ability to increase the scope and quality of its programmatic initiatives. The Endowment component of this campaign is designed as a way to insure an annual and sustainable source of funds, including those necessary for the continued development and implementation of its educational and programmatic efforts.
The goal of the enhanced Endowment element of the Campaign is to have these new funds provide enough annual income to underwrite the yearly building operations costs and thus free up income to support enhanced programmatic efforts.
