Build the official repository of the Muhammad Ali Legacy - a safe, secure, and climate controlled environment - that will enable scholars and researchers from around the world to access the important documents, recordings, books, awards, artifacts and other personal effects that are relevant to the impact Ali has around the world as both a humanitarian and an athlete.

As the official repository of the Muhammad Ali Legacy, scholars from across the globe have been travelling to the Center to learn about Muhammad Ali. This interest is manifested by those interested in his athletic career, but to an even greater extent by those interested in studying his global impact and effect on many of the societal issues facing the nation and the world over the past fifty years.

Some interested in conducting primary research have contacted the Center as well, seeking information on, and access to, many of the significant documents and papers related to Muhammad Ali.

With the recent decision by the Ali Estate to have these papers and documents, recordings, artifacts, and other personal effects housed at the Center, it is critical that the Center be able to adequately store and curate these papers in a safe, secure, and climate controlled environment, and to make them available to researchers in a professional manner.

The Center also wishes to encourage and host serious research efforts in all of the far-reaching elements of Muhammad Ali's life and times, and intends to create an Endowed Chair for visiting scholars to conduct their research at the Center on a rotating basis. Equally as important, a significant part of the mission of the Ali Center is to contain in-house the capability to translate the actions, words, and values of Muhammad Ali into educational programs that can uniquely inspire people to better understand each other, to build their own character, and to have the self-confidence and the courage to be the best they can be.

The Muhammad Ali Archives and Research Center will also have educational and curriculum specialists on staff to develop character-based educational programs that can best utilize the life work and values of Muhammad Ali in meaningful and long-lasting ways.
