Muhammad Ali Center Council of Students

Admission to the Muhammad Ali Center Council of Students (MACCS) program is available to high school students in grades 09-12.  The goal is to maintain forty students who reflect the diverse population of the metro area.  The application process begins with a recommendation from school staff.  A strong candidate will:

  • Be interested in working with other youth to identify issues within their communities and work to resolve them 
  • Be passionate about spreading the mission of the Ali Center, and Muhammad’s six core values
  • Have the ability to attend and participate in activities locally, nationally, and internationally
  • Have the willingness to work together as a team and communicate well with others
  • Be seeking to improve themselves, academically, socially and mentally

    Before the selection process begins, each student must have a certified staff member willing to serve as a school
    contact and an application signed by his or her parents/guardians, granting them permission to participate.

 Expectations of selected student:

A Muhammad Ali Center Council of Students (MACCS) member should:

 Requirements:

  • High school student entering in the 9th, 10th , 11th, or 12th grade of the upcoming school year
  • Involvement in community service or extra-curricular activities in  your school or community, or a desire to get involved
  • Able to follow instructions and work with authority figures
  • Possess or demonstrate the potential to develop leadership skills
  • Attendance, academic and conduct grades that reflect and complement you as a student
