Roundtable discussionMuhammad Ali’s story is one of inspiration that touches individuals across the globe — regardless of one's age, ethnicity, religion, or culture. Ali has lived his life in accordance with his ideals and values. These values have inspired the work that he has dedicated himself to since he retired from the ring —encouraging peace, respect, and healing, and doing all he can to help children around the world.  Just as Muhammad serves as the “People’s Champion,” the Ali Center carries on his work through programmatic global initiatives that align with Ali’s ideals and values.

As a “global gathering place,” we invite you to join us—both online and in person—to learn, share, celebrate our commonalties as human beings, and formulate ways of advancing humanity today and in the future.

Some of our recent global outreach initiatives:

  • Schools for Global Peace Programme - an ongoing partnership with the United Nations Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict.  Click here for more information.

  • Trans-Atlantic anti-bullying video conference that brought together teens from the U.S., England, and Ireland to discuss the growing problem of bullying and ways in which to deal with the issue.

  • Delegation visits and roundtable discussions held at the Ali Center – in cooperation with the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana – have included visitors from Brazil, Kenya, Ukraine, China, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Denmark, Egypt, India, Romania, Turkmenistan, Poland, Venezuela, Mexico, Kosovo, Russia, and others.

  • Surviving Darfur: Staring into the Heart of Human Suffering photo essay on loan from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) included two film premieres on Darfur that aided in public awareness of the crisis.

  • Patchwork for Peace program invited the community to donate denim, cut and decorate blocks, and assemble them into quilts to be sent to war-torn countries providing warmth for victims of armed conflict.
